is a licensed professional counselor. Jenn provides individual counseling to children, adolescents, and women. She also provides family counseling as well as christian counseling.
Jenn has experience working with a variety of issues including; depression, anxiety, bipolar, stress, self-esteem issues, anger, grief and loss, separation issues, divorce, panic disorders, ADHD, ODD, OCD, behavioral problems, social skills, learning disabilities, school issues, childhood sexual and physical abuse, childhood neglect, self-injuring behaviors, trauma, and PTSD. She has had great success in helping children overcome anxiety including separation anxiety, school phobias, and generalized anxiety disorder.
A Michigan native, Jenn originally came to North Carolina to teach. She earned a Masters in Mental Health from Campbell University and a Bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University. She was a public school teacher for more than 10 years before becoming a counselor. She completed her mental health internship at One-Eighty Counseling. In addition to private practice Jenn has experience working with diverse populations in a community mental health agency.

Jenn believes in building a strong therapeutic alliance and relationship built on trust with her clients. After building a relationship it is her goal to develop mutually assigned upon goals. She uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), client-centered approaches, as well as using an eclectic approach to tailor therapy to an individual’s unique needs and challenges. With children, Jenn uses play therapy techniques and believes play is a child’s first language. Jenn is currently under supervision to become a registered play therapist, her supervisor is Dr. Greta Zuck in Raleigh, NC. She has attended extensive training in the area of trauma focused-cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), and provides this for children and adolescents who have been exposed to traumatic events. In family counseling she enjoys improving positive communication between family members and members accomplishing small fun tasks within the therapeutic setting. She believes families need to have small successes together to face the bigger obstacles in life with greater confidence. Christian Counseling is available upon request of the client.

I am currently accepting new self-pay clients. My rates are $110 for an intake and $90 for a session.
